Anyway, thanks for the link. I've been investing some time recently developing for the Fox Board LX832. I would be interested in some collaborative projects, send me your ideas. What I had in mind in terms of projects is perhaps more ambitious. I'm thinking something along the lines of a microUAV. I've seen a few projects done the last couple of years using some off the shelf RC airplane components. Cool stuff using really novel and inexpensive solutions for sensors (such as horizon sensing). There is a company near Orem that makes UAV auto pilot systems. (http://www.procerusuav.com) Cool stuff, automatic tracking, automatic take off and landing...you name it. Anyway, long story short is that I would be interested in contributing to something similar. Some sort of open-source UAV project? Hmmmm, may have answered my own question: http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Anyone working on something more like this in the SLC area? Message-ID: <48C5267B.7040905@mecworks.com> Hey all, I was wondering if there's a way to get flash player browser plugin to work in Thunderbird? I use Thunderbird as my RSS reader and at least one of my feeds (Makezine) embeds flash content all the time. I would like to not have to spawn a browser process every time I want to see one of the articles that has flash. Not MS DOS commands, 'mdos' commands. It's a set of commands that works on raw block devices (floppies and such) so you don't have to mount them before doing copies, moves, dirs, etc. That aside, you CAN use MS DOS-type commands in Linux if you alias them to the appropriate Linux command like so (Add to ~/.bash_profile): alias dir="ls -l" alias move="mv" alias ren="mv" alias rename="mv" alias copy="cp" Then just "source ~/.bash_profile" and start using them. Back on topic: First: Remember that commands in Linux are CASE SENSITIVE. That means 'MOUNT' 'Mount' and 'mount' are different. Second: When mounting a drive into the directory tree, the directory that is going to host is needs to exist (e.g. /mnt/fd needs to be there before you mount). Third: Generally, unless otherwise specified in /etc/fstab) only Root can mount/unmount drives. Anything that is not listed in fstab with the 'user' option can only be mounted by Root. Likewise anything not listed in /etc/fstab (CentOS may not have /dev/fd0 listed) is only mountable by Root. Fourth: Specifying options to mount is generally done in the format: -o option1,option2,option3 And often times the defaults are correct. To mount a floppy (Or thumb drive, or CD-ROM or just about anything), my command line looks like this: mount /dev/(device) /mnt/(mount_dir) So for a floppy, it would be: mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/fd And let the system figure the rest out for itself. It's pretty good at that now. -KW From joseph at thatworks.com Wed Sep 24 10:06:39 2008 From: joseph at thatworks.com (Joseph Hall) Date: Wed Sep 24 13:12:33 2008 Subject: [sllug-members]: Newbie - Mount question In-Reply-To: <6E6FDBA30C063741B032129B4F2CAFF906DFB731@MAIL2.csw.l-3com.com> References: <6E6FDBA30C063741B032129B4F2CAFF906DFB731@MAIL2.csw.l-3com.com> Message-ID: <429579db0809240906g54542ac3kedc8f44480fbaf39@mail.gmail.com> On Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 9:51 AM, wrote: > You can use msdos commands in linux? Wordpress is easy and would probably do what you want. Jeff, If you you read my first email, I mention that I've evaluated joomla and drupal, neither which really fit my needs. I'm more interested in the flexibility of concrete5 or django-cms, but haven't exhausted my search. Was hoping that there's more out there than wordpress (as I use that now) Cheers, Clint From jd at clickworks.com Fri Sep 26 14:26:59 2008 From: jd at clickworks.com (Jeff Day) Date: Fri Sep 26 13:53:20 2008 Subject: [sllug-members]: Iis it from a cms? On their main page, under "CMS Demo Menu' click "Open All" and browse through all the demo'd systems.
