Rep. Brad Daw is preparing to introduce legislation to heavily restrict
free and open wireless Internet access in the state. A full copy of the

What this bill essentially does, as I read it, is to outlaw free public
wireless Internet access in the state of Utah unless that access has a
provision to verify the age of users via either a credit card or (get
this) government issued ID. 

This proposal would radically reshape or destroy things like the future
of community wifi projects. I can't even begin to fathom how this would
affect cellular data networks. I'm sure there are other concerns members
of this list would like to bring up as well.
