Good Afternoon,
My name is Andrew Jackman. I recently moved to Utah (specifically
Sandy) after traveling South America for a few years. I lived in
Oregon before that, studying and working where I could get work. I am
an amateur radio operator, W7MEZ, a Volkswagen hobbyist, an AVR
hobbyist, a gnu/linux hobbyist, and I guess you could say student (I
start at the U in the fall).
I used slackware while in Oregon, but I've been introduced to gentoo
and I really like it. It serves me well. I run a 1GHz IBM/Lenovo
laptop and a homebrew AMD64.
I must say that I have never ever been to a lug meeting because my
schedule has never permitted -- I almost always get stuck with the
weekend/evening shits. I have been active on the Yakima, Washington
LUG (YAKLUG), the Tri-Cities, Washington LUG (3CLUG), and now here. I
hope that I do get the chance to attend the meetings here, but I am
not working from 1600 to 2400 localtime. I work at ACS as a 'Computer
Systems Supervisor'.
I do program, but usually just to serve my own needs -- I have never
considered myself with the programming competency to work on a big
project, although I would love to be invited by someone (wink, wink).
I have programmed in C and C++.
I am seeking general counsel of mine, but to help with the threads, I
will post it with a different message.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
Andrew Jackman.
W7MEZ.
