[sllug-members]: Linux NAT

The firewall is for security for the router machine -- if someone gets
in to your router they are in essence in your network. NAT does the
packet forwarding and (by nature) acts somewhat as a firewall for the
machines behind it, since there's no direct way in. But you shouldn't
use NAT as your only line of defense. Therefore getting a distro with a
firewall set up is ideal.
Live CD's are out there, as some of the others who have replied have
stated. Look into those and see which flavor tastes best to you. :)
