Network Security Analyst
Job Description Individual will plan, install, and maintain systems,
processes, and procedures necessary to maintain the security of the WSU
data network, and provide technical guidance and leadership to the IT
Division regarding network security matters
Requirements Bachelor's degree, with substantial course work in
information technology-related fields, including courses in principles
of computer network protocols and communication.
Four years of professional level experience in the computer field, at
least two of which involve duties relating to server or network security.
Preferred Criteria: Cisco CCNA; CompTIA Network Security+; Global
Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Forensics Analyst (GCFA)
preferred any of all helpful.
Knowledge of computer exploits and hacking techniques and the means of
their detection and prevention
Two years experience supporting Ethernet-based LANs/WANs in an
enterprise network environment, including some network design, including
one year of security experience.
Ability to assist in providing dependable, efficient, and useful
computer network services to Weber State University by planning,
installing, and maintaining the hardware and software necessary to
support those services
Ability to monitor and improve the performance of the current
installation
Network Security Architect

(GCFA); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), any

Knowledge of OSI network model and TCP/IP protocols; ability to design
and configure firewalls; ability to design and implement network
security policies; ability to program and troubleshoot routers; ability
to work with network management software
Network Service Engineer (I believe this is a Cisco network engineer
position, despite the info below)
Job Description Individual will plan, install, and maintain network
server systems providing web services to WSU users; provide technical
guidance and leadership to others involved in supporting server systems;
assist the System/Network Management Department in the efficient and
dependable operations of the WSU data network.
Requirements Bachelor's degree, with substantial course work in
information technology-related fields, including courses in principles
of computer network protocols and communication
Five years of professional level experience in the computer field, at
least two of which involve server management.
Preferred Criteria: A Master's degree is preferred.
