I quite like using an XBOX with XBMC as the frontend for myth. There
is a script addon for XBMC that lets you list all your shows, delete
shows, etc. The only downer is the lack of commercial skipping.
Though, with the right configuration, you can have the commercials
removed at the time it transcodes MPG2 to MPG4. Then you've got a
great frontend for appx $70.
