I've been working with several people in the West Jordan City Council
and speaking a great deal with the Mayor about this. He has some strong
concerns which I think could be alleviated with good information (vs.
the Comcast crap). It's been a slow process and the Mayor's last
comments were West Jordan would NOT be joining Utopia. He did however
express a strong interest in learning more so at least the door is still
open.

I've been asking if he would be interested in a tour. I'll be working
with Utopia to hopefully make that happen soon. I don't know if the
City Council is interested in the tour but it's a start.

I have some information about Utopia requirements. I believe it's
mainly money (a bond) they need to get things started and permits to
perform the work. The Mayor is also concerned about things like
liability and so on. Sounds reasonable enough.

If anyone is interested I can create an email group list and update you
on my activities. Naturally I don't post it on my blog. Wouldn't want
Comcast to get wind and derail my efforts :-)

There are a few other's working through the valley to bring Utopia to
non member cities. Cross your fingers for West Jordan!!
