Hmm. Petition? I also live in Woods Cross. I'd sign. Heck, I'd
help go door to door. But there has to be a more efficient way. The
people need to be educated. Lots of people haven't even heard about
Utopia. Surely everyone except Grandma wants virtually unlimited
bandwidth across fiber these days. Okay, maybe Grandma does too.
Grandma needs that low <2ms latency for all those high-adrenaline FPS
games she plays. She just doesn't realize it yet. ;)
As I was reading relatively off-topic articles in the Woods Cross
newsletter recently, I wondered why they can't have a nice little
blurb explaining what Utopia is and how cool it'd be. Better yet,
include a Utopia pamphlet with the newsletter. And then have
something in the newsletter that says something like "If YOU are
interested in our city joining UTOPIA, send a petition e-mail to the
mayor at utopia at woodscross.com" just to see how much of a response
they get. There you go. Electronic petition, all with comments
added in the body of each e-mail. I bet they'd get a bigger response
than they expect.
I'll e-mail Mayor Parry, but my dinky little e-mail won't put a dent
into the Council's agenda like the response a "request for comments"
in the Newsletter would. I e-mailed the old mayor a few years ago,
along with the other city administrators, and never heard any
response nor saw anything come of it.
