I set this up once upon a time using Squid and Squid Guard. I've used
Dan's Guardian before as well and it's awesome, but isn't really
necessary for the usage you propose. Perhaps as they grow older you
could add it. Eventually my computer crashed and I just haven't let my
kids back on the Internet since (about a year, I guess). My oldest is
only 5, so I'm in no rush.
