I occasionally connect to the internet with my laptop via my Verizon
phone, and for my situation it has been extremely economical. I don't pay
for any extra internet access services or anything, and the only cost of
using the internet that way is the minutes of airtime. Which means that it
is unlimited at the same times voice call minutes are unlimited, namely
evenings and weekends. Being online costs me no more than a phone call of
the same duration. In the interests of full disclosure, I did have to buy
the right cable to connect to my phone, but it's a one-time (per phone
model) $10-50 investment. With bluetooth, you may not even have that cost.
