I have a compact flash adapter that plugs directly into an IDE slot on a
mother board. Compact Flash is an ATA interface - some cards support DMA
others do not. The adapters are simple and can have no chips on them
(some do). They basically connect the IDE interfaces together. The
adapter I have works well but I need to connect it to a SATA port.

There *are* SATA -> CF adapters too. They cost around $35 or so. but I
already have two SATA -> IDE adapters. Which is exactly what the SATA ->
CF adapters are - they are a SATA -> IDE connector with a CF slot
interface. Rather than shell out $35 ea. for the two that I need, I
would just like to use the equipment I have if possible.

Both the SATA -> IDE and IDE -> CF adapters have female connectors on
them so I need a gender changer to connect the two.

That's why I need them.
