I'm in a similar boat.  I am with Comcast ATM, but I'm looking to
switch to DSL for various reasons, but all deal with Comcast's "hate"
tactics.  The biggest reason I hadn't gone with DSL before was because
of the cost.  I don't have a traditional phone line, so the added cost
of a 'dry line' with DSL made the cost higher than Comcast's cable
internet.  If I had a traditional phone line, it would be a no
brainer, and I'd have gone with DSL from the beginning.  Now I'm
willing to fork over the slightly extra $ for DSL and a dry line.
Comcast treats me worse than AT&T wireless use too, and I switched
from them without a second thought.  Guess I'm getting 'dull' to the
abuse ;)
