[sllug-members]: Comcast has problems

Here's an example.

Average HD movie rental size on XBox Live Marketplace ~ 4.0-8 GB
depending on length
Average size of TV 480 on XBLM ~ 300MB
Average size of HD TV Episode ~ 2GB

Patch for WOW 200MB
Patch for BF2 400MB

With all of the media companies starting to push downloadable content
and take a look at Steam, I could format my computer and backup all my
saved games then proceed to download a HUGE catalog of games I have
already purchased.

250GB is a small enough barrier that more and more non-power users are
going to hit, because they don't pay attention to how much they
downloaded with these new services.

Every day there are more companies that have more legitimate uses for
this bandwidth. Have you not been a consumer in the 'digital age' at
all? (IE: Netflix)

Just yesterday I told my xbox to download about 10 episodes of TV I
have decent traffic shaping on my internet so I can still use my entire
pipe and not get terminal lag on ssh sessions.

I think you are being very small minded about this subject.

If Comcast doesn't want people to use "Unlimited" usage, they shouldn't
tell us it IS unlimited just to get the plug pulled on us.

Now what if there is more than one user on the internet connection?
They could all be downloading from netflix or wherever legitimately.
