first one, zoneminder might be something good to peek at, the
solutions that i see seem to all be using v4l stuff.
all in all, it doesn't look there's any huge issues on making it work
any way you want, as always, if you don't feel comfortable using
rpm-based distros, there's 'alien' which will do package conversion
for you.
