I have run a number of Windows VM's on my IDE linux boxes, but most of
them are just test beds that end up trashing after a while. They all ran
perfectly for me but my hardware was quite a bit faster.

Subject: [sllug-members]: VMWare machines on Linux
Hi all,
I am looking into changing my entire system over to Linux, and I may
have multiple computers, but I have been using VMWare ESX Server at work
and now I'm wondering how well a Windows image might run on Open VMWare
Server. The reason why I don't want to use ESX is because I don't have
SCSI and I don't have money to switch over. So I've got IDE and Pentium
III 775, which I know is way low.
My question is: Has anybody had experience running a Windows VM in Linux
on an IDE based system? How well does it run? Is VMWare a resource hog
when it's not their server?
Thanks,
Nathan Lane
