Fwd: [sllug-members]: Using WPA supplicant on the U of U network

I'm also in the same boat. I cannot connect to the U
of U network. I am using Ubuntu 7.04 with the Network
Manager (which, I believe, uses WPA Supplicant as
well). I have also not been able to establish a
connection to the U of U. I am running an Acer 5004
with a Broadcom 4318 (!?!) wireless card and am
currently using ndiswrapper to get this card to work
as well as it does. What I would like to get from all
of this is how to translate the configuration files
for either supplicant to the "Connect to Wireless
Network" dialog which Network Manager uses.
In the next few days I will try using WPA Supplicant
without Network Manager to see if that gets me any
closer, and then possibly even using XSupplicant to
see if that can connect. All this when time permits
between finals.
TIA...
Note: forwarded message attached.
