IMO, in that case, SELinux or not (I agree with Stuart in that it's best to
try to just get it to work if you can), you're probably best off dealing
with the fedora firewall (there's a nice gui for it), enabling only the
ports you will want to allow in.  Use https for any secure transactions you
want to occur, use encrypted authentication in your e-mail, and gpg for any
secure e-mails you need to send.  You may want to use Thunderbird for your
e-mail and install some good anti-spam and anti-phishing extensions for it.
I'm sure I'm missing something here, but that ought to keep you pretty
secure.
