[sllug-members]: Memory Usage

System:
OS: SuSE 10.1
CPU: 1.2Ghz AMD Athlon (single core 32-bit)
Memory: 1 GB (two 512MB dimms)

I am having issues with my system, most notably when I am listening to
media and rendering web pages where the machine seems to stumble on
what it is doing.

I am using Firefox and Amarok for the process. It doesn't seem to
matter if those are the only two things running, I still get the hang
up when I surf the web, or even scroll the page.

I figure this has to be related to a memory issue. Any tools I can use
to discover the real/underlying problem?

I haven't run memtest86 yet to see if the memory itself is in trouble,
but i dont think that it is.
