[sllug-members]: Soldering guru?

Chad,
Radio Shack is no longer the mecca of geekdom that it
used to be. I tend to order my components (etc)
online from catalogs like McMaster-Carr
(http://www.mcmaster.com/), Digi-Key
(http://www.digikey.com/), Jameco
(http://www.jameco.com/), MPJA (http://www.mpja.com/),
or Electronic Goldmine (http://www.goldmine-elec.com/)
just to name a few.

The wire in the pictures looks like standard 18 or 20
AWG hookup wire, and you can probably pick up a header
socket with crimp connections, eliminating the need
for any fine soldering.

You can also use crimp-on quick disconnects for the
wire connections to the RCA phono sockets and give
soldering a miss entirely.

Best of luck,

Rik

Subject: [sllug-members]: Soldering guru?

Does anyone know where I can go locally to have some
soldering done?
Specifically I'm looking to have:
http://www.rokamp.dk/thomas/ypbpr/ypbpr.html

Something like that made. However, I have the worst
soldering skills
on the planet, and I don't know which type of cable
I'd use or where
to get the pin connectors...

I'd assume some local small electronics shop for all
of it (something
like Radio Shack but that actually is used by small
electronics
builders) as far as parts go, but finding the guru to
do the work...
any ideas?

-Chad
