You can use Samba as your PDC with an LDAP backend. We were able to get
this up and running at my previous employer. It was really nice to have
a central location for almost all of our login credentials
(e-mail,Windows,http-auth.) If you google for samba and ldap, you'll
find a bunch of howtos. Since it can be a critical single point of
failure, I strongly recommend that you setup replication for your LDAP
server.
