After I drink some coffee I notice the detail I left out.  The donor computer is a Gateway built in 2001.  My apprehension is that the aged cables may be brittle and break.  Leaving me with an intermittent problem.  Or the wires between the power supply and the MOBO may have welded themselves into the MOBO.  

Does anyone have any experience with that kind of thing?
