Does your 678 have a reasonably recent firmware version?
Is set up to use the right encapsulation? xmission has
some good help pages. start here:
http://www.xmission.com/help/dsl/cisco/index.html
which talks about firmware. Choose the "Cisco 678" link
at the bottom to read about encapsulation standards.
