Actually the Actiontec 1520 or 1524 are the "Craptiontec"s.
The new GT701 models are made very differently and don't suck quite so bad.

According to my experience with my 1524, when I use port forwarding it
will lock up about once a week and require a reboot. Without port
forwarding it will only lock up about once every month or so.

According to the experience of the tech support at my work (an ISP), the
152x is ok if you want very simple stuff. The GT701 is even better at
handling more complex stuff. But if you want even better control the
Cisco 678 is the way to go. And if you want EXTREME control you can get
a Cisco 827 or 837, a DSL router with a real IOS interface, but very
expensive and harder to find nowdays.
