[sllug-members]: SUSE 10.1

I recently cut over to SUSE 10.1.
It presented a few challenges but I am pretty happy now with the results.
In fact it is working much better than my previous 9.3 in many aspects
and as I share the machine with my wife she is as well. For example
previously only one of us could access the sound system when both were
logged in. Now sound is working for both. All my multimedia stuff works
and I have the update mechanism now working quite well.

My questions:

Within .exrc I have a line:
map v :!ispell -x %^M:n %^M^M

This has been working to get ispell to work within vi for 10-years or more.
However, with 10.1 ispell never runs with the map. It does on the
command line.

On a similar note. I have a program called "par" paragraph reformatter
that I
found on the net somewhere many years ago that I like. It no longer
does anything.
It worked fine on 9.3 but with 10.1 it clearly doesn't want to handle input.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Bob
