[sllug-members]: OT: bulk convert .xls to .txt tab delimited

Does anyone know of a way to bulk convert .xls files to .txt tab delimited
files, in either Linux or Windows?

I have several financial .xls files that come to me at work and I have to
convert them to .txt tab delimited files. It's getting very tedious to open
each file one by one and save as .txt. If I could convert all 80 files at
once that would save me tons of time and keep me from going completely
postal.
