Wow, you were on the WX council and advocated UTOPIA? Hey, that's
nice to hear. I thought I was the only person in Woods Cross that
even knew about UTOPIA let alone wanted it. Yay! I'm not alone!

The only reason why they easily assume that the citizens aren't
interested in it is because most people don't even know about it.
Once they do, they'll definitely want it. Who doesn't want super
speedy Internet access these days? Who doesn't want to free
themselves from the whims of corporate of Qwest or Comcast? When I
talk to an average Joe and ask about UTOPIA, he has no clue what it
is. But I'm sure that if he knew, and if he owns a computer, he'd
definitely want it.

Maybe the city could put a description of what UTOPIA is and what it
does with big bold letters in their newsletter and ask for some kind
of e-mail response of whether people want it? I think that'd be
better than always assuming that the citizens aren't interested in
it. Is guessing what your constituents want is part of being a city
with a ".com" in its domain name? (What are .utah.gov and .ut.us
for? Where is wx.ut.us? :) Sorry, this is a pet-peeve of mine)

I'd be glad to do that. We need to somehow find more people like us,
though. Any ideas on how to do that? We've at least found three of
us on this list...

Another thing, we have a new mayor who isn't stuck in his old ways.
Maybe he'll listen if we send e-mail to him? Would that do anything?
