[sllug-members]: performance concerns using noapic on a
hyper-threaded CPU?

I was wondering if anyone knows if using noapic on the kernel command
line will impact performance on a single physical CPU machine that is
hyper-threaded?
I just upgraded my CPU to one that does hyper-threading and my computer
won't boot using apic. So, being the overly performance conscious
computer geek that I am, I am wondering if setting noapic will impact my
performance. OTOH, using noapic vs. not being able to boot is a fairly
big difference in performance so maybe I shouldn't be worried. :)
