Have you used the command-line utilities to see if you can pick up
channels?  Try dtvscan and see if you find any channels.  Then try
dtvsignal and see what your signal strength is (ie, dtvsignal 44 to
check signal on ch 44).  finally do a "getatsc 44 > test.mpg" (or
whatever channel you last got a decent signal from with dtvsignal) and
wait for a second.  Then break out of that and try playing test.mpg with
mplayer.  If you see TV stuff then the capture card is working.  If not
there is something else wrong.

It took me a couple of tries to get it working properly with my pcHDTV
2000.  I'm pulling ATSC off the air, not cable.
