[sllug-members]: AMD processor testing

All,

I need some help. First an explanation:

I just bought 2 CPUs from a friend out of state. Both are Athlon 64's,
one is a socket 939 (3800+), the other is a socket 754 (3200+). I
didn't pay much for them, and I intended to upgrade my machines with them.

I installed the s939 3800+ in my production machine and it was a
no-post. I re-installed my prior processor and it still works.

Here is where you come in (if willing)... Since I don't have a test bed
for socket 939 processors, I was wondering if anyone out there would be
willing to test this CPU and make sure it is dead... I *am* currently
running in a technically unsupported configuration on my motherboard (it
specifically says it does not support registered memory, but I'm using
it anyway). I would like to have it tested in a vanilla setup just to
determine if it is a bad CPU or if it extra picky of my environment.

I haven't tried the s754 proc yet, but my machine for that isn't a
production machine so I can test just fine myself.

Any takers?

Thanks.

Jarom
