For most people I know, the decision to use Xmission (or any other local
ISP) over Qwest's default (MSN, last I checked) is that when you have a
problem, you deal with a local company, rather than some call center in
Asia.  Also, being "alternate OS" type people, we generally like an ISP
that shares our interest in things not-Windows and won't hit the ceiling
if we say we've got it plugged into a Linux firewall with a PowerBook
connected via Wifi (Note, I have not tested this myself, yet).
