Is the execute bit set on the script cron is expected to execute? - Yes

Are there any relevant entries in /etc/cron.allow or /etc/cron.deny? - No
Does the cron script in question set up the same environment [...]? - The
script does not set up anything relating to the environment as I am not a
very good shell programmer and did not think to do so. What are some things
I would want to set up? Source the .bash_profile?
Thanks for your suggestions so far.
